Opening of the Rides!

Summer Starts Early in Coney Island!

On Sunday, March 28th, the rides open for the summer season at Coney Island.

Deno's Wonder Wheel Park opens at 11AM with a ribbon cutting and the annual Blessing of the Rides, with local kids from the Salt N Sea Mission riding free.

The fun continues at 11:30 a.m. with the musical pageantry of the Hungry Marching Band, culminating at 12 noon, when the world famous Cyclone Rollercoaster opens for the season with the first 100 people riding for free!  Borough President Marty Markowitz will break a bottle of egg cream on the first Cyclone car to inaugurate the 2010 season!

Also opening tomorrow is the Polar Express and Twelfth Street Amusements, McCullough's Kiddie Park, and many of the boardwalk restaurants.
