Walk for Peace

A toddler and a teenager were wounded during separate shootings in Coney Island recently. I am incredibly disturbed by these incidents and I have been working with the NYPD to see what we can do to put a stop to these senseless acts.

The Coney Island Coalition Against Violence is organizing a peace walk on Sunday, August 15. It will start at 2 p.m. at the headquarters of Urban Neighborhood Services, at 1718 Mermaid Avenue, and the participants will make their way down Mermaid, to 2950 West 35th Street.

I've attached the flier for this event here, and I encourage anyone who is concerned about the recent acts of violence in Coney Island to attend, and to make their voices heard.
