Seaside Park, adjacent to the Boardwalk and the Coney Island Amphitheater, provides year-round public space for the people of Brooklyn. The design, led by landscape architecture firm Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates, comprises one acre of park space surrounding the one acre outdoor amphitheater.  While the amphitheater provides a spacious area for community-based entertainment, the lush surrounding green space includes a broad hilltop lawn and a series of picnic groves for more intimate gatherings.
